Am I protected? A 5-minute online security self-check

Answer honestly; nobody else sees this. Your answers are saved in this browser only and never sent to us. Every “not yet” comes with the guide that fixes it, and most fixes are free.

  1. 1Does your main email account have two-factor sign-in turned on?

Your email can reset almost every other password you have.

  2. 2Do you use a different password for every important account?

One breached password should not open your bank, email and shopping accounts.

  3. 3Is your credit frozen at Equifax, Experian and TransUnion?

A freeze stops new accounts being opened in your name. It is free.

  4. 4Have you checked haveibeenpwned.com and changed any leaked passwords this year?

Leaked passwords are tried against other sites within days.

  5. 5Are automatic updates on for your phone, computer and browser?

Updates close the holes real attacks use.

  6. 6Does your mobile account have a PIN or port-out protection?

It stops someone moving your number to their SIM and receiving your codes.

  7. 7Have you changed your router's admin password and updated its firmware?

Default router logins are public, and old firmware is easy to break into.

  8. 8Do you always call back on a known number before acting on an urgent money request?

This one habit defeats most impersonation scams, including voice clones.

  9. 9Do you have an IRS Identity Protection PIN?

It stops a fraudulent tax return in your name, which a credit freeze does not.

  10. 10Have you removed your address from the main people-search sites?

Those listings are how scammers and stalkers find where you live.
