Key takeaways

  • Go to searchpeoplefree.com/opt-out, enter your name and an email address, and complete the captcha.
  • Click the emailed link within 24 hours, then fill in details that match the record you want removed.
  • SearchPeopleFree says to allow 3 days for the record to be fully removed. It is free.
  • The form is the same one FastPeopleSearch and TruePeopleSearch use, but each site needs its own request.

What SearchPeopleFree shows

SearchPeopleFree is, as the name says, a free people-search site: name, age, current and past addresses, phone numbers and relatives, with no paywall in front of the basics. Free sites rank well in search results and need no sign-up to browse, so they are the ones worth clearing first.

Before opting out, search yourself and note how your record lists your name, city and age. You will need to match those details.

Step 1: submit the Record Removal Request

As of October 2026, SearchPeopleFree’s own page gives these steps:

  1. Open searchpeoplefree.com/opt-out.
  2. Enter your email address and name and complete the captcha.
  3. Click the link the site emails you. It may take some time to arrive; if you wait more than 24 hours you will need to request a new one.
  4. Enter your information on the form. It should match the record you want removed.
  5. A confirmation page and confirmation email follow. The site says to allow 3 days for your record to be fully removed.

The page warns that omitting or mistyping details only slows the process, so fill in the form fully and accurately. Repeat it for each separate record, such as an old address under a different city.

Free step

Do this in one sitting with FastPeopleSearch, TruePeopleSearch and SmartBackgroundChecks. The forms are worded almost identically, so the second, third and fourth take a couple of minutes each.

Step 2: check and keep checking

After three or four days, search your name, phone number and address on the site again. If something remains, submit a fresh request matching that exact record.

Search engines may still show a cached title for a while. Google’s Remove outdated content tool deals with dead pages, and Results about you with results that show your phone or address. New public records can bring a listing back, so search again in three months.

The full set of free opt-outs, in priority order, is in our data broker opt-out list. In California, add the state’s free DROP request too.
